Sonia Makhija, DDS

Dr. Makhija received her DDS from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Upon graduation, she practiced general dentistry in Montgomery, AL and later was a dental examiner for NHANES, a nationwide epidemiological survey.  Dr. Makhija completed her Postdoctoral Training Fellowship in Caries Research at UAB while receiving her Masters in Public Health. She currently is an Assistant Professor in the Department of General Dental Sciences and is Director of Communications for the Dental Practice-Based Research Network and Director of the Xylitol for Adults Clinical Trial.
