Specialty Clinics

In our specialty clinics, residents (dentists who are being trained as specialists) provide patient care under the close supervision of School of Dentistry faculty members. This ensures that our patients receive consistently high-quality, low-cost care—on average 30 percent less than private practice.

You may be referred to one of our specialty clinics by our screening clinic or you may make an appointment directly by calling (205) 934-3000. Referring dentists who would like to schedule an appointment with the clinics directly should call the number listed on the individual clinic page (see links above and at left).

Insurance and Payment Policy

The School of Dentistry is a preferred provider organization for Medicaid, Medicare, MetLife and select Blue Cross and Blue Shield group plans. If a patient has other dental insurance coverage, the Business Office will assist in filing these claims; however, payment for treatment will be required at the time of service.  Payment can be made by cash, check, or major credit card.
