Faculty Research Interests

The UAB School of Dentistry has a rich history as a top-tier School for Dental Medicine.  This history includes research of both basic science and clinical tracks.  The School of Dentistry (SOD) has many faculty members that commit a great deal of their time to research, along with their teaching, community and administrative duties.

The SOD is fortunate to be a part of UAB, a major research-intensive university.  The collaboration opportunities that we enjoy because of this are boundless.  One fortunate part of this is that we have been able to institute a dual degree program, and added a new training program for dental students, graduate students and postdoctoral trainees.  This program, the Dental Academic Research Training (DART) Program is funded by the National Institute for Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR).
