DART—Dental Academic Research Training Program

Postdoctoral Training Program in Oral Health Discoveries

 

The DART Postdoctoral Training Program will prepare its fellows for a career in academic research in either Basic Science or Clinical Dental Research.

Emphasis 1: Traditional Postdoctoral Training in Basic Sciences-Emphasis in Craniofacial Research

Postdoctoral fellows in basic research will be eligible for support from this Training Grant on admission to one of the faculty member’s laboratories for mentor-based basic laboratory research training.

Attend the IOHR Seminars and the School of Dentistry Scholars Symposium.

Attend the Scientific Writing Series offered through the School of Medicine.

 

Emphasis 2: Clinical Research for Dental Professionals with the Master of Science in Public Health - Clinical Research awarded upon completion.

Postdoctoral fellows on the clinical track will be eligible for support from this Training Grant on admission to one of the faculty member’s research programs for mentor-based clinical research training.

Postdoctoral fellows (Clinical) will be required to be admitted and complete the Master of Science in Public Health (Clinical Research or Epidemiology) program of the UAB Graduate School.

Attend the IOHR Seminars and the School of Dentistry Scholars Symposium.

Attend the Scientific Writing Series offered through the School of Medicine.

 

Applicable to all Postdoctoral Fellows in the DART Training Program:

 · The DART Training Program is only open to U.S. citizens and permanent residents.

· Stipend, tuition (Emphasis 2 only), and travel support are provided, according to NIH guidelines.

· Postdoctoral Training appointments are for a maximum of three years.
