DMD Program Additional Information You Need to Know
Apply Early!
Send all information as quickly as possible to prevent delay of your application. Like most dental schools, we participate in the centralized dental application service known as AADSAS, (American Association of Dental Schools Application Service). Applicants apply on-line via the AADSAS web site . On-line AADSAS applications are usually available in June and applicants are encouraged to go the the AADSAS web site to get specific details of the process and dates for earliest submission.
Send Us Additional Materials Before We Receive Your AADSAS Application.*
In addition to your AADSAS application, other materials must be sent directly to us in order to complete your application. This can be done by you prior to our receipt of your AADSAS application and will speed the processing of your application. Please forward the following items at your earliest convenience:
- Official transcripts from all colleges attended.
- Official DAT (Dental Admission Test) Scores
- Prehealth Advisor/Committee Letter (required if available) or two letters of recommendation from college professors
*It is recommended that out-of-state applicants wait until receiving a request for additional information before sending the above.
Check Regularly To Be Sure Transcripts/Recommendations/Etc. Are Being Sent.
Many items are needed to complete your professional school application. Do not assume items you requested will be sent. After you know the items have been sent and there has been sufficient mailing time, check with us to be sure we have everything. January 15 is the last day we accept materials for your application. You and you alone are responsible for providing us with a complete application.
Return Our Supplemental Application As Soon As Possible!
Once we receive your AADSAS application, a decision is made regarding whether or not an Alabama supplemental application will be sent. Decisions regarding interviews are made only after an application is complete, so it is to your distinct advantage to return the supplemental application and related materials as soon as possible. This includes:
- Alabama supplemental application
- Photograph of yourself (2 inch by 2 inch)
- $75 application fee
Send New Transcripts As They Are Available
To maintain an active application status, you must forward new transcripts to us as soon as they are available. Interviews can be delayed as well as acceptances without this information.
